The Puppini Sisters (who aren't in fact related) are a British, Andrews-Sisters-esque trio who do a lot of retro-old-timey covers as well as some original material. Unlike other pseudo-siblings such as, say, the Statler Brothers - who were famously named for a brand of tissues - there actually is a Puppini among them in founder Marcella Puppini.
The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, I am just now learning, are also from the UK and have been playing even older hits since 1969; according to Wikipedia they're named after an old song from the '20s called "Home in Pasadena", which actually does refer to the SoCal city...
This jazzy cover of "Groove Is in the Heart" came out ahead of the Puppinis' 2020 album Dance, Dance, Dance and is how I know the Deee-Lite original...this retro stuff can be kind of hit and miss but "Groove Is in the Heart" is translated smashingly here. It reminds me of how good this Postmodern Jukebox cover of "Where is My Mind?" is:
...I also can't help but be reminded I recently learned there was a Roman emperor named Pupienus...
Cheers...
